One safe place for the logins, API keys, subscriptions and domains of every product you run. We only use your email to send you expiry alerts and to confirm it's you.

StackHangar locks your vault with a passkey: Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello, your phone or a security key. Your passkey also creates the secret that scrambles your data, so it never leaves your device and we can't read it.
Not every browser can do this yet. We check now, before you set anything up.

This device works. Your browser can use a passkey to lock and unlock your vault.
!
This browser can't protect your vault yet. It can't use a passkey to create the secret that locks your data.
What to do
Open StackHangar in a recent Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox on a laptop or phone.
Update your operating system if it is more than a couple of years old.
Using a security key? Pick one that supports "hmac-secret" (most recent YubiKeys do).
We don't offer a master password instead. A password can be guessed or phished; a passkey can't. That is the whole point.
Prototype toggle: preview the unsupported-browser state.
Create your first passkey
Your device will ask you to confirm with a fingerprint, face, PIN or security key. This creates the key that locks your vault, right here on this device.
StackHangar servers only ever store scrambled data. We never see your passkey or your vault contents, so we can't be forced, tricked or hacked into handing them over.
✓
Passkey created. Your vault is locked on this device.
If you cancel the prompt, nothing is saved. Just try again.
Save your recovery key
If you lose every device that holds a passkey, this key is the only way back into your vault.
Prototype: download and print are simulated. The key shown is fake.
StackHangar cannot recover your vault without this key. We don't have a copy and can't reset anything for you. Keep it somewhere safe and offline, like a printed page in a drawer or a safe, not in your email.
Add a second passkey
A backup way in. Use your phone, a second laptop or a security key. If one is lost or broken, the other still works.
✓
Second passkey added. You now have two ways in.
With one passkey, you have one point of failure. If you lose that device, only your recovery key can get you back in. We'll keep reminding you on Home until you add another.
Name your first project
A project is one product you run (for example "Acme Invoicing"). Logins, keys, subscriptions and domains are grouped under it. You can add more later.
Next: paste a .env file or import a password manager export. It's read on your device only.
